Ambleside - Ottawa’s Condo Community

If you live in Ottawa and have never had a friend or family member living at Ambleside, I would be surprised.. and if you are looking for a condo that is in a quiet area, close to both the city and nature, spacious, and unique, then you need to read this!

Ambleside is Ottawa’s classic condo community! Built by Minto in the 1970’s, there was quite a bit of consideration for space, amenities, and community gathering areas. There are three buildings:

Ambleside I - 1081 Ambleside Drive

Ambleside II - 1171 Ambleside Drive

Ambleside III - 1100 Ambleside Drive

It would be impossible to find a condo with as many amenities as the Ambleside community - the three buildings all offer something different.. there are saunas, a hot tub, an indoor pool, outdoor pool, picnic area with BBQ, squash court, billiards room, exercise room, workshop, boat storage room, library, children’s playroom, lounge area with kitchen (for parties and social events, with a hardwood floor gallery for dancing!), car wash station, three guest suites, a convenience store, and air conditioned laundry facilities. There have been some major security upgrades since the 70s and each building use fob entry and have different amenity access.

It’s a great community to consider raising a family in, or to downsize and still have loads of space for the grandkids to visit, with lots to do - the spacious units range from 1 bedrooms, 2 bedrooms, 2bed + den, and 3 bedrooms. Some even offer two balconies, and views of the Gatineau Hills and Ottawa River. Throughout the years so many of the condos have been renovated that there is a lot to choose from in terms of style, or there could be an opportunity to start a new project!

Ambleside I, II, & III are located just a ten minute drive west of downtown along the Ottawa River, in between Britannia Beach and Carlingwood. There’s lots to do outside - steps from bike paths, shopping, Ambleside Park, and MacEwen Park.
